Child Poverty

FullCupboard.com

I was just watching a 60 minutes on CNBC  program on Child Poverty and how many children are living in family vehicles and cheap motels.  They are going to bed hungry and rely on School subsidized meals.

Guess what?  The school year has ended or is about to end for a lot of these children.
What can we do to help?  Do you have a family that you can help in their time of need?

I am going to make it my business to help those in need.  It's time to stop talking about it and be about it.  Shouldn't we help one another or turn our heads the other way?

In the Philadelphia Septa (Public Transporation system) is having a Food Drive to support Philabundance an organization that feeds those in need. I will start by dropping off some canned goods tomorrow morning.

I just sent an email to a Couponing Forum to send a Military Family some expired coupons which they can use at the Commissary.

It's funny I was sitting here trying to think of how I could make some extra money, and end up thinking of how I can help someone else.  It's not me it's God.

Please pray for these children and their families. because "Praying for others is a Privlege and a Responsibility".

"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon". Isaiah 58:10

Happy Belated Mothers Day

FullCupboard.com

I know I'm a little late and I truly apologize.  Hopefully, this poem will put me back in the  Good Graces of all Mothers.

Mothers What Do They Do? by Carl Copeland
Dedicated to Christine Lee Copeland (May God Rest Her Soul) and Ethel Lee Hendricks/ Sisters and Mothers

Mothers what do they do?
What  are they about?
Do they take care of your bumps and bruises?
Are they the first to ask “What is wrong when you pout?

Do they clean your clothes and make sure food is on your plate?
Do they ready you for school, clothes laid out so you won’t be late?

Remember you got real sick and she pulled your head to her bosom and cradled your head
If need be she “robotussined and vaporized” you up and took you upstairs to tuck you in bed

Parents school visitations even though you got all A’s

When you get there the Teacher says “ This report card is good but He’s
been acting up these last few days”.

Walking around the house moping along
Walk by your Brother, your Sister, and your Father not a look or even a word
But your Mother stops you she senses that something is wrong

Maybe you did something crazy ok stupid, She may be mad but slow to curse
She instills in you that it could be worse, maybe even share with you a Bible verse
Now you’re  all  grown up with kids of your own
Thank God for the seeds that your Mother has sown

Don’t take Mothers for granted for it is not a  Mystery
What would we have done without Mothers?
One of God’s Greatest Gifts it’s written all thru History.

Take time to show Mothers the Caring, Compassion and the  Love
The same she showed you don't need to wait until we are all in  Heaven above

Now there's no need to be confused or have some doubt about
What Mothers Do and What they are about?

'Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you on the land which the LORD your God gives you. Deuteronomy 5:16

Trusting God To Provide by Cindy Wyatt

Trusting God To Provide
by Cindy Wyatt

Our heavenly father is concerned
about our every need
He will always provide for us
and will intercede

Our father knows the number of
hairs upon our head
and will hear our prayers before
they are even said

God in heaven watches over us
with tender loving care
He alone takes our burdens
and all of them will bear

He told us to fear not for we are of
more value than many sparrows
and only wants us to trust him
for our needs he surely knows

God Bless,

Carl and Deb C

Join Your Favorite Restaurants Emal list....

FullCupboard.com

Do you have a favorite Restaurant?   Do you like to receive a discount for your loyalty?  Well you might get preferred service when you arrive at your favorite restaurant because you are a regular or have a familar face.  Or maybe it's because you tip well.

You might get a free dessert or maybe even a free cocktail but usually that comes when something goes wrong like a botched order or slow service.

Wouldn't you like to be rewarded for your loyalty instead?  Even if you don't get to go to the restaurant as much as you like, when you do go wouldn't you like a break?

Well my suggestion to you is to join your Favorite Restaurants promotional emal list, once you provide your email watch the discounts and promotions roll in.  Wth the current economy restaurants are fighting for your hard earned dollar.

I've joined a few Restaurant email lists, fan clubs, whatever you want to call them but they all provided me with great discounts.  Just to mention a few;  Ruby Tuesdays "So Connected",  Famous Daves P.I.G. club "Pretty Important Guest", Denny's and many more.

The discounts vary from Buy One Get One Free to $10 off $30.  Some restaurants like Pappa Johns offers 50 % off an online order when the Phillies score so many runs in one game (we're going to take advantage of this one tonight).

Birthdays are the best, they normally offer you a free meal for being a loyal customer

All it takes is a few minutes to sit down at your computer and sign up for these promotions.  Since you're saving money, remember to think of others maybe you can take a person out who needs a little bit of company or someone who does not get the opportuity to go out too much.

The godly always give generous loans to others, and their children are a blessing.
Psalm 37:26

Share An Encouraging Word

FullCupboard.com

S  Sharing

E  Effect

We're always encouraging you to share your finances, food, and more.  But sharing an encouraging word can improve another persons day and lift their spirits

I've found that when I give a person an encouraging word during their time of need, it truly makes me feel good.  Have you ever received an encouraging word?  How did it make you feel?  We all need to have a sense of hope and support when we are going thru trials and tribulations.

Even those Family members or Friends who we consider to be strong can use some words of comfort. Have you ever had a friend tell you "thank you for listening to me and what you said to me really helped"?

You probably have a Family member that is what we would say is the Rock of the Family, just let them know that they are appreciated, you would be suprised how far a personal letter will go.

Try it, pick up the phone, sit down and write a short letter to someone you know could use an encouraging word or needs to know that someone cares.

"where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God"
Acts 14:22.

Turning Leftovers into Lunches

FullCupboard.com

How may leftovers are in you fridge right now? Turn your delicious leftovers into lunches for the next day. You'll find yourself making extra dinner so that everyone can take leftovers for lunch the following day.

The real advantages are:
1) You'll know what your family is eating, probably a lot healthier than what they can buy at school or work.
2) Think of the money that will be saved turning your leftovers into lunch. At work, my lunch usually runs anywhere between $5-$8 a day.

Here are some great ideas for turning leftovers into lunches:

Meatloaf - Slice it up and make sandwiches, or take a slice, crumble it up over some spaghetti and tomato sauce. When you're ready to eat, just put it in your microwave.

Pot Roast - Some foods just taste better the next day. Pot Roast is definitely one of them. Slice it up, warm and put into an Italian roll and cover it with gravy for a nice hot sandwich.

Chicken - Chicken has to be one of the most versatile leftover foods ever. Of course, you can make sandwiches, but what about chicken salad, chicken wraps, or grill the leftovers for a great, grilled chicken salad with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepers, and your favorite salad dressing.

Soup or Stew - You don't have to do anything special for these leftovers. Just put them into a tight-sealed microwave bowl and go. You can warm it up at the office or school; if a microwave is not available, insert into a small big-mouth thermos. Warm it up in the morning, and it will be warm enough for your lunchtime meal.

Pasta Dishes - These dishes can be warmed up in a microwave container. You might want to add a little bit more sauce to keep the pasta dish from getting dry.

Steak and Pork Chops - Making a sandwich with these leftovers is too easy, try making a wrap with our favorite veggies and sauce.

I would suggest that you invest in some quality microwave containers with tight-fitting lids and a sturdy lunch bag. Think about how you would be throwing away good food and how much money you can save with leftover lunches.

You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress: of that with which the LORD your God has blessed you you shall give unto him.

Dueteronomy 15:14
